Editor of the Year (Consumer Media)

Criteria

This category rewards the outstanding consumer magazine editor of the year. Sureness of touch, enterprise and imagination, a clear understanding of market needs, and a commitment to excellence will all be key factors. Judges will focus on the personal contribution of the editor to the successful innovation, new developments, and consistent all-round quality which put the brand above its competitors, taking into account the overall quality of journalism, significant successful editorial developments and initiatives, the relevance of content to the magazine’s audience and the editor’s knowledge of, involvement in and influence on the market. Entries should also show evidence of the editor’s commercial awareness.

Judges will assess overall presentation, performance during the year, including circulation and readership figures and achievement within the brand’s competitive set, and readership approval, as measured by original third party research. Judges will also take into account how each entrant has dealt with the challenges faced during the year.

Requirements

Each submission must consist of the following:

> One entry form

> Three separate issues of the magazine (these may be consecutive), each carrying a cover date from the last 12 months.

> Each submission should contain a high resolution print quality scan (300 dpi jpeg) of the magazine cover. (Magazine cover must be from one the three issues submitted.)

> Each submission should contain a high resolution print quality (300dpi jpeg) head and shoulders photograph of the nominee

Please do not submit any other material – it will not be sent to or considered by the judges
